Quadrophenia coming to town...

Quadrophenia coming to town...
Man, I am so geeked. The Who are making a stop near me on their current "Quadrophenia" tour, and one of my old buddies (who's also a contractor for my current company) has bought tickets. We spoke a couple of weeks ago when I first heard the Who was performing the Quadrophenia album in its entirety this tour. I told him that "Q" was my favorite Who album, and that the Atlanta show was the day after my birthday, but we agreed that tickets were just too expensive. I guess he decided to write it off as a marketing expense, so he told me on our most recent job Monday morning that he'd gotten us tickets.

They're still my favorite band, and I haven't seen them since '79. I'm big-time excited.

I might be going here in Detroit. A friend who has connections is trying to get some tickets. Normally I don't spend that much cash for a concert, but I'll make an exception this time. These great old bands won't be around for much longer. Daltrey definitely can't sing nearly like he used to, and it's never been quite the same without Moon and Entwhistle, but I'm sure it'll still be great. Quadrophenia is a phenomenal album.

I'm planning on seeing them in Chicago. I've got a friend who's tight with a broker so he's confident we can get good seats. They probably will be pricey though!

As near as I can tell, Zak Starkey is on drums, Pino Paladino on bass, according to Wikipedia. It shows some keyboard players as only having been with them in 2012, so it looks lilke it's fairly up to date. Not sure if they'll just use keyboards for all the horn stuff or if they'll have horns.

I saw the Who a few ago with those two and they were very good. Pete's brother was also on guitar.
