While I certainly hope the Diner stay's open, I can only imagine the stress and pressure you must be under to keep it going Boomer. As I've said before, the fellowship and genuine care for one another here is something special. However, I know that doesn't pay the bills! The fact you are still without an instrument is downright unthinkable! I don't know the answer, but will support you in what you decide. My resources are limited (aw hell, non existant!) with no job or income for the past six years, but I've been blessed by several here and hope to be able to reciprocate in some way. Hang in there bro! Thank you for bringing this up again and please keep doing so. I will do my best to send some $$ when I can. Even though the traffic has been light, this is the first place I check when I log on. Perhaps we can list pedals, parts, etc that are no longer being used and have the proceeds go directly to the Diner? I'm going to the parts box to check right now!

Well, I actually agree with that. But supposing it was non-negotiable that there was going to be a death penalty at all... there ought to be a separate standard of "guilty" on which to apply it. And, I think the exercise would lead to a natural conclusion...

There is more traffic, if you can call it that, in the Grill Room than here. The traffic here mostly consists of my Happy Birthday posts and Caption This.
No one stepped up to help with the techy stuff and no one is bringing in new blood. The 'atta boys' and 'thanks' just aren't enough, after almost eleven years, to keep me motivated. Hell, I'm still without an instrument!
Our domain needs to be renewed in August and another donation drive would be needed to stay open.
If someone wants to keep the doors open, shoot me a PM.
It makes me sad to post this but I think the Diner has used up its fifteen minutes of fame. I know this has been home for many of you and sort of my security blanket. This was a joyous group with lots to say. Now there's just a few of us left and no one has much to say that hasn't already been said.
Without some serious reasons from the members and an infusion of cash I can't see why we shouldn't close the doors at the end of the month.
On the other hand, maybe I just need to adjust my meds and build a grow room or move to a State where secondary meds are legal to possess and grow!
All of the above aside, I'd rather not give up and fade away into that good night. There are still great people here!

Re: [ToneRanger] Princeton Amp question

In addition to the lack of reverb, there is one less preamp gain stage in the non-verb Princeton. So the amp feels different and sounds cleaner (less gain). Nice little amps if you want a nice clean little sound.
We have a Princeton Reverb Recording amp and I think it's a great little amp. The bigger box adds some girth to the tone, as compared to a standard PR or nonverb P. It doesn't really sound just like those old school amps. It doesn't quite have the same tone, but it does sound very good if you ask me. The built in Power Soak, effects, and effects loop make for a versatile grab and go amp, or as in our case, a perfectly good living room/bedroom amp. With all that stuff built in it is heavier than a standard PR. Of course it's got a printed circuit board vs the Pt. to Pt wiring of the old school amps, so it's a different beast if you want to do you own amp work, or have an old school amp guy work on it.

Having said that, of course, you are absolutely right and it is why mandatory sentences are wrong, in my far from humble opinion. You have judges and juries because life is fuzzy. Fuzziness is no reason not to draw a line.

I like PR's lotsnlots, but the non things seem to me not all that terrific and sorta one trick pony thing. But it does have trem and a popular mod is to toss the trem and add a gain stage. And the real good news is that like all Fenders, OK most, it will take pedals just fine so no reverb may not be much of a handicap.
There are zillions of Fenders and few are museum bound. It's your amp, do what you like - - FTW and the amp nazis ! Every Fender I've mod'ed sounded better for it. And if it's got the usual SF crap speaker in it get a decent speaker before you do anything else.
JMO of course YMMV

Of when the death penalty should NOT be used.
Because while she was convicted, and I don't have a problem with her conviction, I think it is possible that new information could overturn the conviction.
And if she's dead... well, that's a problem.
Death penalties should only be applied when there is no reasonable expectation that new information could overturn the verdict. When you pretty much have all the information already.
But no one was there. No one saw the murder.
Is that a fuzzy and very hard to judge line? Yes it is. But it's better than nothing.
